Every live match can be watched by anyone signed in. You see the board move as it happens, you can cheer, and you can back a side with coins — and none of it can change the game by so much as one bead.

What a watcher can do
Cheer, gift, listen — and nothing else
- See the board move in real time, with both scores and the shared clock.
- Send emoji — and only emoji, so a match is never talked over.
- Gift coins to whichever side you are backing. The total each player has been given sits on their card, in gold.
- Hear the commentator, when one has been appointed to that match.
- See how many people are watching each side — the two numbers side by side are half the fun.
This is not a setting that could be left switched on by mistake. The watching screen has no move in it at all — there is nothing to tap, no camera and no microphone path. Watching is watching, by the way it is built.
Commentary
The chair is appointed, not claimed
The commentator's seat used to go to whoever tapped first, which meant the person talking over a big match was decided by who was quickest. It is given now, before the match, and only one person can hold it at a time.
The commentator's voice reaches everybody watching at once, however many that is — their phone sends one stream and it is fanned out from there, rather than dialling every listener one by one.
Nothing is kept
The crowd leaves no trace
Who was watching, which side they sat on and what they sent all disappear when the match ends — and a watcher who simply closes the app is removed by the server, without their phone having to say goodbye first.
The players' own chat and their call are deleted at the end of every match too. Nothing said over a board is recorded.
And none of it can be cheated
Every match is replayed and re-scored on our servers before a single ranking point moves.
